Maple Grove Park: Revitalizing Community and Ecology

This project explores the interplay between memory, landscape and community, weaving together spaces where nature and human presence coexist in quiet dialogue. Through interventions that invite gathering, reflection and renewal, it seeks to honour the layered histories of the site while nurturing connections between people, place and the living environment.

01 - Pavilion

Integrating history and ecology, the pavilion draws inspiration from Vancouver’s preserved cedar stumps, framing a central tree opening as a symbol of regeneration. Seating 25 with integrated planters, it fosters both community and biodiversity.

02 - Dog Park

Shaped to honour the bond between people, animals and place, the dog park offers spaces where movement and rest meet. Shaded retreats, evoking abstracted groves, create gentle sanctuaries for pause. The design fosters safe encounters and deepens connection to the land.
